The cargo ship Cygnus successfully docked to the International Space Station (ISS).
This was reported by the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
"The cargo ship Cygnus successfully docked to the ISS in 08:13 on the time of the East Coast of the United States, delivering more than 7 thousand pounds of cargo for the crew of the orbital station," - said in a statement to NASA on Twitter.
The Antares launch vehicle with a space truck started from the cosmodrome on Wallops Island (Virginia) in the Atlantic Ocean last Monday. On board there is a cargo with a total mass of 3.36 tons. This is mainly food, equipment for the station and instruments for scientific experiments.
The device will remain in orbit for about seven weeks, after which it will leave the station with the spent materials. After the ship is undocked from the ISS, six small satellites will be launched from it, then it will burn in the upper layers of the Earth's atmosphere.
